About
Wow, thanks for actually clicking that about button. This is painful actually writing something in the first person. Usually about/bios are in the second person to make it easier to talk about yourself and your work without sounding vain. But I like to talk and tell people about the cool things I do, like take photographs, so I’ll make an attempt at it here. Not sure if I should start with my pictures or me…I guess me and then the pictures…
See I told you this wasn’t easy.
Anyway, I’m originally from New England. Western Massachusetts to be exact. I was lucky enough to have been able to travel all over the country because of my dad’s job when I was younger and kind of grew-up in a variety of places {I think this is why I enjoy destination weddings so much}. We finally settled in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and that had been my home base until my wife and I relocated to just north of New York City in Connecticut. I am grateful to be able to work in such wonderful places as Tampa Bay, New York City, Connecticut and the rest of New England to document your events, your Love Stories. It’s a blessing actually. My wife and my kids are my greatest joy, followed closely by my faithful Lab Dixie. Some of the things I love are God, hockey and dirt bikes (my kids really love them!). The crisp air, colorful foliage and smells of fall in New England; the sultry ocean breeze during an evening beach walk in Florida; or the traffic, lights and Christmas time bustle of New York City are all a part of my sense of “home”.
My path to professional photography started with a high school class. That led to some regular work for a local newspaper shooting whatever they needed done. That early work at the newspaper propelled me into a career as a documentary photographer. I worked at newspapers in Alabama, central Florida and Connecticut both as a photographer and editor. I have photographed both domestic and foreign news assignments. I have twice been awarded the ‘Publick Occurences Award for Photojournalism’ for my documentary work. It’s been an amazing journey. Along the way I made the transition from covering news storiesto magazine editorial and adverting photography. Of all the stories I have been able to tell through the years, Love Stories are my favorites. I look forward to photographing yours.
